fate/grand order }

that mobile game everyone is playing, now with an official english release on both android and iphone! ... which is only up to chapter three right now but we're getting there. the main story is really interesting and it's worth reading the interludes/room lines for your favs, plus whatever story chapters they show up in. naturally, there's an absolute shitton of new servants. (blanket spoilers for identities of everyone across the franchises, but they almost all introduce themselves right away in fgo anyway.)

it's also free to play, just a gacha game so get ready for reroll hell or paying $$$ to get your faves. that said the story content is easy as shit to clear with what the game gives you, so it's not paywalled by any means. they know they can make bank off people rolling for their waifus. i may or may not be one of them.

the prologue chapter also got an ova, found here (link tba). this actually has corrupted versions of most of the fateverse servants in it so it's worth a watch. they've confirmed more ovas are coming but no other news yet. translations for stuff beyond the english version (since we're a good two years behind jp) can be found here!

fate/apocrypha }

an alternate universe grail war, featuring two full teams of seven masters and servants (red and black) with a ruler-class referee. the cast and setting are largely all-new but many of the characters (mordred, jeanne d'arc) have since shown up in other things. gets really fucking weird later on but it's fate/, idk what people expect.

translations of the light novels can be found here. it's currently ongoing (4 out of 5 volumes have been completed). has an anime which utw is subbing, and the first half is now legally available on us netflix. there's also a manga.

fate/unlimited codes }

a fighting game spinoff that shows what would happen if other fsn servants/masters had obtained the grail. this actually got an official english release on the psp, and the translation is solid. definitely watch the route(s) of any characters you're interested in for rp or whatever, because this is probably the most ic/relevant of the spinoffs for fsn and shows some interactions we don't see in the visual novel.

some of the routes are here (saber, saber alter, gilgamesh, sakura, kotomine, lancer); the others can be found on youtube easily enough. will update if i find a more complete collection.

fate/tiger colosseum }

comedy game thing for the psp. some translations are on youtube, i'll add 'em later. edit: here are a bunch of the routes.

comedy game thing 2: electric boogaloo. there aren't as many translations for this one, but i'll hunt down what i can.

carnival phantasm }

comedy spinoff anime. not exclusively fsn (there are episodes devoted to other type-moon franchises too) but it makes up a majority of the content. found on youtube here, majority-fsn episodes are 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, and the Ilya's castle special.

fate/extra }

basically an au of fsn. a dungeon crawler that splits off from the main series and has 128 masters and servants fighting for the moon cell. features all new servants and masters for the most part (there are a few familiar faces), and is largely its Own Thing, meaning it could feasibly (??) work as an introduction. probably. this also got an official english release, again on the psp, and it's good--you can tell the team gave a shit.

lp links to come... also it's getting an anime next year(?). not sure if that's a direct adaption or another sequel of some kind though. runs really well on ppsspp as a sidenote if you wanna play it on an emulator.

sequel to extra. there's a tl of one of the routes floating around somewhere that i'll link... later.

fate/extella }

sequel to extra+ccc, which won't make much sense without knowledge of the setting/plot already, but the game pulls the amnesia card on you at the start so it's happy to explain shit. got an official english release on the vita and ps4; if you're interested in extraverse you'll wanna play it. it's basically dynasty warriors with fate characters slapped on, but it's fun and the story is good.

!!if anyone has translations that i'm missing please let me know!! sometimes they're floating around in obscure places so i definitely have missed stuff here. also i'm not mentioning the 102039034909 material books/bonus content/etc but i have links to most of it if anyone needs it and will probably make a post... some day. if you want to rp a character and are curious what might be relevant to them, either hit up the wiki (HUGE SPOILER WARNING) or hmu for a spoilerfree list.
